Is there software that shows what ChatGPT says about your company?

The high-intent question is not whether ChatGPT knows your name. It is whether the answer a buyer sees is accurate, supported, and better for you than the competitor beside you.

Yes, but do not buy the screenshot version

There is software that shows what ChatGPT says about your company. The useful version does not stop at asking ChatGPT your brand name once and saving the answer. A buyer rarely asks only that. They ask what to use, which product is better, what alternatives exist, whether a tool is safe for their use case, or why one company is more trusted than another.

That is why ChatGPT brand monitoring should start with buyer questions. If ChatGPT describes your company accurately on a branded prompt but recommends a competitor on the actual buying question, the buying question is the one that matters.

What the software should actually show

The first requirement is the raw answer. Without the answer text, the score is hard to trust. You need to see whether ChatGPT named you, how it described you, which competitors appeared, what claims carried the recommendation, and whether any visible sources or citations support those claims.

The second requirement is history. A one-time answer can be noise. Repeated reads of the same prompt family show whether the story is drifting: a caveat keeps appearing, a competitor moves up, a source keeps getting cited, or your own improved page finally gives the assistant a clearer claim to repeat.

What it should not pretend to know

No tool can honestly promise complete visibility into every private ChatGPT conversation. The measurable work is disciplined sampling: stable prompts, known answer surfaces, recorded dates, markets or languages where relevant, raw answers, competitors, claims, and source trails.

That limitation is not a weakness if the product is honest about it. A good monitor tells you what it checked, what changed, and where the public evidence appears weak. A vague magic score without the underlying answers is confidence theater.

The buying test

If you are evaluating ChatGPT monitoring software, ask for one thing: show me the answer a buyer would see, then show me what we should improve because of it. If the tool cannot connect the answer to a page, proof point, comparison, source, or competitor claim, it may be tracking attention without creating work.

Signalbat is built around that loop: read the answer layer, preserve the evidence, summarize the movement, and point back to the brand or source work that could make the next answer better. Start with ChatGPT and LLM brand monitoring if you want the product version, or use the manual ChatGPT audit guide if you want to run the first pass yourself.
